Discover Maryland's Specters

Spectral Types Revealed

Spectral Manifestations

Unveil Residual Hauntings

Residual hauntings are often described as "recordings" of past events that replay without any interaction with the living. These hauntings typically occur in locations where significant emotional events took place, such as battles or tragedies. The spirits involved are not aware of their surroundings and do not interact with observers; they simply repeat the same actions or sounds over and over again. For example, one might see a ghostly figure walking through a wall or hear footsteps at the same time each day.

Unveil Spirit Mysteries

Intelligent hauntings involve spirits that are aware of their surroundings and can interact with the living. These spirits often have a purpose, such as delivering a message or seeking help. They may communicate through various means, including knocking, electronic voice phenomena (EVPs), or even physical manipulation of objects. Encounters with intelligent hauntings can vary widely, from comforting interactions with deceased loved ones to more unsettling experiences with unknown entities

Spectral Disturbances

Poltergeist, meaning "noisy ghost" in German, refers to hauntings characterized by physical disturbances, such as objects being moved, doors slamming, or loud noises. Unlike residual hauntings, poltergeist activity is often associated with a specific person, usually someone experiencing emotional distress. This type of haunting can be quite chaotic and is often more intense than other forms of hauntings.

Uncover Shadow Mysteries

Shadow people are dark, shadowy figures that are often seen out of the corner of one’s eye. They are typically featureless and move quickly, often associated with feelings of dread or fear. The nature of shadow people remains a mystery, and they are distinct from traditional ghostly apparitions.

Uncover Haunted Phenomena

Understanding the different types of hauntings can provide clarity and insight into the supernatural experiences people report. Each type has its own characteristics and implications, ranging from harmless residual energies to more interactive and potentially unsettling encounters with intelligent spirits. By recognizing these distinctions, individuals can better navigate their experiences with the paranormal.
